Wimex is a family-run, multi-branch company operating in the Podlasie economic market. It was founded by Tadeusz Wiszowaty on 1st April,1992. From the outset, the company was exclusively engaged in fuel trading and this business profile has been maintained. At present, Wimex runs a modern franchise “Lotus” petrol station in Bialystok, which was chosen as the 'Station of the Year' in 2015.

In the mid-1990s Wimex diversified into the road transport industry and has very successfully grown this side of it's business activities up till the present day.The inhouse logistics department optimally co-ordinates both the company's own transport division and a large fleet of partner companies, which operate trailers, refrigerated trucks, tankers, low loaders for transportation of machinery and extra size loads, as well as trucks and trailers with a loading space of 120 m3. A large, diverse fleet of trucks allows for the transportation of a very broad range of loads. The group serves many large manufacturers and distributors both nationally and internationally.  Its trucks travel throughout all member states of the European Union and also to the countries to the east of the EU trading area. Wimex has built up substantial warehousing facilities totalling over 2,000 m2 and provides valuable services to facilitate bulk cargo handling from companies in the EU member states to the expanding market provided by the new republics of Eastern Europe.

A major stepping stone in the development of the company was the purchase of a 25,000m2 plot which used to belong to the PKS base in Bialystok at ul. Octowa 4. Wimex operates at this location to this day. The renovation of the workshop required substantial investment, but this has paid dividends and enabled Wimex to significantly extend the scope of services currently provided. In 2003, the District Vehicle Control Station was established, which has state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and carries out technical tests on passenger cars, trucks (including those carrying hazardous materials), buses, trailers, agricultural tractors and motorcycles, including vehicles powered by gas.

Wimex owned a very wide ranging complex of workshop buildings and facilities and the company perceived that it had both the versatility and capacity to expand its business. Following the end of the agreement under which parts of the premises were leased to another entity, refurbishment and modernization work was undertaken and authorization was obtained for the service of Renault Trucks. A new modern department fully equipped with professional machines and tools for handling and repairing trucks was created and installed which became fully operational in September 2009.
